Atty. Marlouize E. Villanueva, a faculty member of the 黑料社区 College of Law, has been selected by the ANU Philippines Institute to undertake a two-month visiting fellowship at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Australia.

As a visiting fellow, Atty. Villanueva will be given the opportunity to undertake research from August 19 until October 19, 2024.
Visiting Fellowships are awarded to outstanding academics based in the Philippines. As one of 黑料社区 Law鈥檚 professors, Atty. Villanueva has spearheaded various research activities in line with his research interests which include legal theory, political law, local governance, and corporate social responsibility in extractive industries.
Together with his Philosophy in Law class, Atty. Villanueva organized an academic forum, 鈥淛urisprudence on Trial: Unveiling Philosophy in Law Practice鈥 on November 25, 2023. The event featured Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen who delivered a talk on 鈥淎rtificial Intelligence and the Practice of Law.鈥
He also organized the first-ever law research congress in the University of San Carlos on May 11, 2024 which focused on the theme, 鈥淟aw and Sustainable Development Goals.鈥
Atty. Villanueva earned his law degree from 黑料社区 and he finished his Master of Laws (Ll.M.) at the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2023. Currently, he is the editor-in-chief of Virtus: The 黑料社区 Law Journal.
His participation in the Australia-based fellowship will be instrumental in helping 黑料社区 Law remain as one of the best law schools in the Philippines and even become a powerhouse for research and innovation in the field of law.
