This year’s theme, “Navigating Tomorrow: Careers in the Age of AI,” underscores a vital mission: empowering students to master AI tools responsibly while sharpening the uniquely human competitive skills that remain indispensable. 

By centering the conversation on this technological evolution, the University seeks to bridge the gap between academic preparation and the global market, where professionals are already leading the charge in AI integration.

To complement these forward-looking discussions, the CDC will offer specialized Career Development Programs designed for various year levels. The University of San Carlos will host the 2nd International Agri-Life and Bioresource Sciences symposium on February 26-27, 2026 at the SAFAD Theater in Talamban Campus.

Adopting the theme, “Advancing sustainable agri-life and bioresource technologies across borders,” the symposium serves as a venue for discussion of best practices in agri-life and bioresource sciences and presentation of innovative solutions to current challenges. The symposium also brings together researchers, industries, policy makers, and other stakeholders.

The Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program of the University of San Carlos has been granted Level IV accreditation by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) evaluation—the highest status awarded for any pharmacy program in the country. 

This distinction positions as the first and only FAAP Level IV-accredited pharmacy program outside Luzon, and only the second program nationwide to achieve this prestigious status. The program was first accredited in 2002.

The accreditation affirms the program’s long-standing excellence demonstrated through its consistent outstanding licensure examination performance, high-level faculty qualifications, relevant teaching practices, sustained global outlook and mobility, state-of-the-art facilities, strong industry partnerships, clinically impactful extension services in the community, and research productivity in drug discovery and development. 

In November 2025, was recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as the Top Performing School in the Philippines for its stellar 100% overall passing rate in the Pharmacists Licensure Examination. has earned recognition by the Professional Regulations Commission as Top Performing School 20 times since 1996. 

As the regional leader in pharmaceutical education, pioneered the offering of CHED-approved post-baccalaureate specialization programs such Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy. Through its Level IV B.S. Pharmacy program, has regionalized access to high-caliber pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education and training in the Philippines.

The successful accreditation was achieved through the unwavering dedication, hard work, and vision of the School of Healthcare Professions (SHCP), led by Gerard Lee L. See, Ph.D. (Dean, SHCP) and Florencio V. Arce Jr., Ph.D. (Chair, Department of Pharmacy).

With heavy hearts, the Carolinian community remembers Fr. Florante S. Camacho, SVD, who passed away on December 25 at the age of 86. Fr. Camacho was a shepherd, an educator, and a leader whose service quietly shaped generations beyond the classroom.

Fr. Florante S. Camacho, SVD, President of the University of San Carlos (1982–1987)

He served as the President of the University of San Carlos from 1982 to 1987, leading with vision, wisdom, and a deep sense of mission.He assumed the presidency amidst a faltering economic landscape. Known among SVD circles as “the troubleshooter,” Fr. Camacho was frequently called upon to help SVD institutions recover from various crises.

His legacy lives on in the lives he guided, the communities he strengthened, and the spirit of dedication he exemplified, one that continues to inspire Carolinians to serve with compassion and purpose.

The University of San Carlos joins family, friends, and the broader Catholic community in giving thanks for a life well lived, a vocation faithfully answered, and a legacy that time cannot dim..

The University of San Carlos () and the College Faculty Independent Union (CFIU) have signed an agreement last December 8, 2025, concluding negotiations under the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement to formalize agreements on faculty compensation and related benefits and marking the completion of discussions mandated by the 2022 accord.

The agreement stems from the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) entered into by and CFIU on September 8, 2022. Under the terms of the 2022 CBA, both parties committed to continue negotiations on matters concerning faculty salaries and benefits. These discussions culminated in the present agreement. 

The MOU was signed by University President Fr. Francisco Antonio T. Estepa, SVD and witnessed by the Vice President for Administration Atty. Joan S. Largo who also served as chief negotiator for the management. School of Law and Governance Dean Atty. Jose Glenn C. Capanas and Atty. Julius Neri also witnessed the signing as members of the negotiating panel for . Representing the CFIU were its President Dr. Delilah R. Labajo and other officers, namely Darwin M. Goron, Grace Socorro L. Yomo, and Gino Jun V. Bagano. CFIU’s counsel Atty. Edmund Lao was also present to witness the event.

University and Union officials described the agreement as the result of sustained dialogue and good-faith negotiations, reflecting a shared commitment to uphold faculty welfare while supporting the University’s academic mission.

The University of San Carlos debuted in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, which was released by the ranking body Quacquarelli-Symonds earlier tonight (10:00 GMT), November 18, 2025.

One of eight ranked Philippine universities, is ranked in the 1401–1500 bracket out of 2,002 institutions worldwide. It is also ranked equal 524th out of 827 institutions in Asia and 88th out of 117 universities in Southeast Asia.

The Sustainability Rankings have three categories, namely environmental impact, social impact, and governance. 

ranked highest (=818th globally) in environmental impact, particularly in environmental sustainability. was ranked equal 256th globally and 1st in the Philippines in environmental sustainability. Among ranked universities in the country, it is 4th in environmental impact and equal 5th in social impact.

In August 2024, was one of the first-ever recipients of the ACEN RES Renewable Energy Enabler Awardrecognizing its commitment to renewable energy and highlighting how it has inspired other organizations and significantly contributed to ACEN’s efforts in building renewable capacity and decarbonizing the Philippine power industry.

Also in August 2024, issued a statement to reduce carbon emissions, outlining several initiatives include disallowing the entry of single-use plastics in its campuses. also publishes an annual Sustainability Report.
