The event marked a significant milestone for the Department, providing a platform for students to showcase their knowledge of engineering economics. 

Thirty students from across the School of Engineering鈥檚 six engineering programs, namely Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Civil Engineering, actively participated in the Olympiad. 

The participants demonstrated their proficiency in the application of economic principles. After an intense competition of answering 10 easy, 10 moderate, and 5 difficult questions, the team from the Mechanical Engineering Department, 鈥淢E ME鈥�, emerged as the champions.

Meanwhile, 鈥淐hinoys鈥� of the Civil Engineering Department and 鈥淭eam Ishikawa鈥� of the Industrial Engineering Department bagged the second and third places, respectively.

Buoyed by the success of this inaugural Olympiad, the Industrial Engineering Department intends to make this event a yearly tradition. 

The event aims to promote the practical application of engineering economics and enhance the academic and social experiences of students at the University. 

Moreover, it is poised to become a cornerstone event on the Department鈥檚 calendar with the intent to attract more participants and reinforce the sense of community within the School of Engineering鈥檚 programs.

As 黑料社区 continues to champion excellence in engineering education, the Engineering Economics Olympiad stands as a testament to the IE Department鈥檚 commitment to holistic learning and practical applications of engineering principles.

The following programs applied for and were granted Level III re-accreditation: 

1. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
2. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
3. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
4. Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering
5. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering
6. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

For a program or institution to qualify for a Level III Accreditation, it needs to show a reasonably high standard of instruction, extensive community extension programs, strong faculty development tradition, and highly creditable performance of its graduates in licensure examinations, among others. 

The PAASCU is a service organization that accredits or conducts quality assurance evaluation of academic programs of its member institutions since 1957.

The exam results were released by the IE Certification Board (IECB) through the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE). 

Overall, a total number of 238 out of 298 examinees passed the examination representing the national passing rate of 79.87%. 

With their license, the new CIEs are now eligible to apply for the title of Associate ASEAN engineer under the Philippine Technological Council, the body that administers the ASEAN Engineer Registry in the Philippines.
